Our Prayer
Dear God, Our Father in Heaven, hear the prayers of Your church in Lakeville. Empower us by Your Spirit that our lives would be centered on worship. Equip your ministers that our worship would be centered on Your word. Teach us Your word be it mild or harsh. Comfort us with Your fatherly presence and the certain knowledge that God’ s word can never hurt God’ s people, for Jesus has said, “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” Cause Your word to change our hearts by presenting to us our sins. Remind us that You have saved our souls by the sacrifice of your Son.
Let the Lord’s Day be sacred for believers and their families. May our children be present with us for worship and instruction. Raise up role models for our children among Your own people. Defy the “generation gap” which is this world’s excuse for youthful rebellion, and the devil’s tool to pry them fro
m us. Return us to a high moral standard for young and old alike, the expression of our greater love for God and our greater hope for humanity. Train our sons to be strong in the faith, respecters of women, diligent fathers. Teach our daughters to be nurturing mo thers and faithful wives. Let every Christian home be blessed with a wife who is its loving heart, and a husband who is its merciful head.
Banish the spirit of the age from among us. Visit us with the Spirit of Christ reigning in our midst. Fellowship with us in the abundance of Your blessings, and in the sufferings of Your Son.
Restrain us with the knowledge of the goodness and the severity of God. Be our rock and our foundation, our victory and our strength. Infill us with Your Spirit and the pure milk of the word. Assure us with Your promise that even such as we will be built up a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, an offering acceptable to the Lord. Amen.
Sincerely,
Daniel J. Casieri, Pastor
